Denver Puppet Theatre

Today we took a trip to town to watch 'The Snow Queen' at the Denver Puppet Theatre. It was really a lot of fun for the girls! They love the story and loved getting to see a puppet version.

Even more exciting was meeting a family that spoke fluent French after the show. The father was French and the mother American. The little boy spoke English and French fluently and he sounded so cute. The girls were a bit shy at remembering their French lessons, but eventually remembered a few things. When it was time to leave they suddenly began to remember more, but we had to go.

I love the Denver area! We always have the opportunity to meet people from different countries and cultures. Something that can't be reproduced in a conventional social studies class!

Evergreen Lake Plunge

David participated in the Evergreen Lake Plunge this year.

The video isn't out yet, but we do have pictures!
It was a cold day, in the 30s and the water was about the same.
It was a chilly dip! But he was find just a few minutes later after warming up in the warming hut, by the fire with hot cocoa.
We had Beau Jo's afterwards, our favorite Evergreen haunt. It was a lot of fun, and will likely become a new family tradition. Okay, well I probably won't do it, but anyway. :)
We've been really trying to make our own traditions this past year, and this was really quite a way to start the year!
