Fabric!! And Desert Essence.

I got a TON of fabric from a fellow freecycler. I also got a load of fabric books and some inspirational ideas from this very talented lady that gave them too me!

Problem is, I gotta fix my machine. Or replace it. I am not sure which yet. Before my machine broke on me (it runs, but does not go up and down...) I was determined to buy another anyway. Then there was a broken Jeep. Then another Jeep problem. Then there was all that other stuff. So now I'm back to it with a pile of fabric encouraging me and a frustrating sewing machine. And honestly. All those other problems....still going to be hanging around anyway might as well make myself comfortable.
Now, for all of you more seasoned crafty mommas out there - I am considering buying a serger, since there is a decent amount of fabric (that I love!) that needs a serger. Suggestions there?

Also - what's a good machine that won't break the bank that is versatile enough to work with a variety of fabrics and get the job done with minimal frustrations?

Knowing my thriftiness, which is ever stronger these days with David's new sales job that pays much less than desired and our strong drive to no longer rent, I'll probably just fix the ol' machine and call it good enough for now.

Another thing I've been wanting to blog about is Desert Essence. Being in the industry that we're in, David and I get the opportunity to try out a variety of products we might not otherwise get to try.

I've been using face wash all my life, and moisturizer for the past few years. Being sensitive to chemicals and scents, and having sensitive skin, it is always a bit of a challenge for me to find a product that really works for me. I've been using Desert Essence for two months now. I use the Thoroughly Clean Face Wash and the Daily Essential Moisturizer.
The face wash does have a light scent, but I haven't found it irritating. It is very astringent and my skin feels very clean after using it! I mean squeaky. I do like it, it works well. My only complaint has to do with the dispenser top, which seems to leak a little bit. Other than that, it's a great face wash with excellent ingredients. My daughter even uses it now.
What I really love though is the moisturizer. I've had problems in the past with other moisturizers. They were too oily, over-scented. Had to wash my hands after because they felt greasy. Sometimes my skin broke out more using them. Desert Essence makes the BEST moisturizer I've ever tried. Costwise, it isn't bad for such a pure-minded product. Plus, it comes in a generous sized canister with a screw top. Easy to use. It goes on so light, and it just feels like my skin drinks it up and loves every bit of it. It has little to no scent, which makes me very happy. No grease. Full on relief for dry skin. It's so nice I've been using it on my forearms, neck and hands too. I love this product! For me, the search for a good moisturizer has come to a refreshing end!
