Breckenridge

It was a beautiful day to drive out to Breckenridge to catch the snow sculptures at the International Snow Sculpture Competition before they are taken down. It was a good drive, and good weather. Breckenridge is beautiful. We walked around and looked at the sculptures, then went to find a place to eat. Along the way we found an art gallery that the girls loved. They learned a little bit too, Alecia had no idea you could make such sculptures and pictures with paint. I guess she had seen paintings and sculptures in books before, but not too many in person, especially that close. We had a late lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. They had this neat little bench you could sit on mimicking Forrest Gump, with his suitcase, box of chocolates and shoes. After eating we started to head back but then we found a really nice toy store called Peak-a-boo Toys. They had so many high quality interactive toys, I highly recommend a visit there. There is also a play area inside with loads of stuff for the kids to play with. It was a fun stop for them. We got up and out of town just as the after sunset blanket of cold arrived. It was a wonderful day trip.
